Set on a coastal property, 15 km drive north of Coromandel Town, Kotare Coastal Cottage is a one bedroom “retro”, fully self-contained bach. Built in the 1950's the bach retains much of it's original character and charm.

Clean and comfortable, there is a large queen bedroom, toilet, bathroom with shower/vanity. Open plan living area with full cooking facilities, small under bench fridge and the lounge room with access onto the sunny north facing balcony and views of the sea. Surrounded in a natural bush and ocean setting with stunning scenery!
Guests also have a dedicated outdoor space in “the secret garden”, and also a lawn & bush/garden area to the east of the property where you can BBQ your dinner. On the front lawn area is a bench seat, designated for specular sunset viewing! Easy access over the road (less than 10 meter walk) and down a formed track to the pebble beach for swimming, surfcasting, beachcombing or sitting under the ancient Pohutukawa trees and taking in the wonderful views of the ocean and islands.

The location of the accommodation is “virtual” waterfront and makes an excellent base for exploring the Northern Coromandel and day trips north to discover the remote and rugged Northern Coromandel – spectacular coastlines, walks, secluded bays, white sandy beaches, pristine native bush. Explore further north to Colville (a store, 2 cafes), Port Charles, Big Sandy Bay, Waikawau Beach.

Enjoy the safe all tide swimming at nearby Waitete Bay sandy beaches and make the most of the beautiful natural unspoilt scenery, fishing/kayaking/hiking opportunities without the crowds.

Secure parking in front of the bach and plenty of room to turn around a boat.
5 Night minimum stay from mid-December through to end of January.
